Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. You will conduct hands-on classroom and in-truck training, teaching safety, hours-of-service, trip-planning, and Schneider's policies.

You will demonstrate use of electronic tablets and workflow systems and provide ongoing feedback to candidates to ensure safe, rewarding careers with Schneider. Qualified candidates have strong coaching abilities, a professional attitude, and the capacity to learn and

Qualifications

• Experience as an instructor or trainer preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Positive, professional attitude required.
• Ability to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
