Job summary

Vistar is seeking a CDL-A Driver to operate tractor trailers and straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, OTR, shuttle, and overnight deliveries of food and related products, all in accordance with DOT regulations.

You will safely deliver with timely service, interact with customers professionally, and adhere to loading/unloading procedures while maintaining accurate paperwork and logs.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year commercial driving experience
• Foodservice distribution industry experience
• Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (PeopleNet)
• Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (POD)
• Customer service-related work experience

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues
• Follow all DOT regs and company safety policies and report hazards
• Inspect trailer loading and paperwork for accuracy
• Load/unload freight and complete end-of-shift procedures
• Maintain daily logs and hours-of-service compliance
• Uphold safety standards during delivery and handling of freight
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with all company policies and standards
