Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking qualified Delivery Drivers to join our team. CDL-A is required.

You will drive tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, with local, OTR, shuttle, overnight, and drop deliveries to customers, ensuring products arrive safely and on time. Pay averages around $83,000 annually, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, possible 4- and 5-day weeks, and layovers plus occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months commercial driving
• Valid CDL-A
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location

Responsibilities

• Communicates with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally, answering questions accurately and promptly.
• Functions as a team member and performs duties to best serve the company.
• Conducts pre/post trip safety checks as per DOT regulations and maintains safety standards.
• Inspects tractor/truck and trailer for safety and company compliance; reports issues.
• Delivers customer orders on schedule and unloads products at designated sites.
• Collects payments where required and handles customer signatures on receipts.
• Loads returns and secures trailer doors; ensures equipment is locked.
• Completes hours-of-service records per Federal DOT and company rules.
• Keeps loading dock and trailers clean and organized; completes paperwork daily.
