Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Hermantown, MN is hiring a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process.

You will operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and securely manage freight inside trailers. The role requires a valid Class A CDL with hazmat and double/triple endorsements, clean MVR, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• One year of recent driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• LCV qualifications apply in listed states and must be met where applicable.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and ropes.
• Maintain required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT procedures.
• Collaborate with dispatch and customers to determine pickup/delivery needs; solicit additional business.
