Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, while supporting the selling process. You will operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform daily safety inspections, and maintain required documentation.

You must hold a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements, be able to lift up to 100 pounds, and communicate effectively with customers and dispatch. DOT regulations compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with double/triple endorsements, hazardous materials and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• 1 year of driving experience in the last 3 years or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) according to hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR part 383, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Perform freight handling with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
