Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a linehaul/dock driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat, a minimum of one year experience or completion of FedEx Driver Development, and the ability to perform pre-trip inspections and secure loads.

You will communicate with dispatch, maintain records, and potentially perform duties of road driver or dock staff as needed. Starting pay is $32.66 per hour with a range up to $37.81 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Minimum 1 year experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR and DOT regulatory requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or triples and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight in trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to arrange pickups/deliveries and solicit opportunities.
• May perform chaining of tires or duties of road driver/dock employee as needed.
• Follow all laws, regulations and company policies.
