Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring for a Driver role to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting the selling process.

Required are a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, one year of recent driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.Starting pay is $31.32 per hour and OSHA/DOT regulations must be followed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR and meet DOT regulations.
• Endorsements: Double/Triple and HazMat; automatic transmission allowed.
• Ability to count, perform basic math and document properly.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and other vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections daily.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers on pickup/delivery needs.
• Assist sales by soliciting additional business and leads.
• Prepare required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to DOT rules and hazardous materials procedures.
