Job summary

FedEx Freight in Kentucky is seeking a Driver-Operator to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers while supporting the sales process.

You will operate tractor-trailers (including doubles/triples where applicable), perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and communicate with customers and dispatch to ensure on-time delivery. This full-time role offers steady hours and a path for growth within the FedEx Freight network.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Minimum one year experience in the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR and meet DOT regulations.
• Knowledge of basic math and strong documentation/communication skills.
• Lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly and operate tractor-trailer equipment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractor or trailer.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck as required.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material rules and DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding pickups and deliveries.
• Seek additional business opportunities from customers.
