Job summary

FedEx Freight in Colorado Springs is seeking a CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. This role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, experience or completion of FedEx Driver Development, and the ability to handle freight, perform inspections, and maintain DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• CDL with double/triple and hazmat endorsements required, auto transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year of driving experience in last 3 years or completion of FedEx Driver Development Course.
• Valid MVR meeting hiring standards and DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combos and straight trucks as assigned.
• Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and move freight with appropriate equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary and complete required reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and dispatch instructions.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and seek additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service and assist sales with leads.
