Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step-Down Unit, 7 West. The role involves 12-hour day/night rotations, with a 72 biweekly hour schedule and rotating weekends/holidays. A sign-on bonus is offered for qualifying experience and new graduates.

The unit handles congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA and sepsis, with a 24-bed capacity and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1. Tuition reimbursement and OPERS are part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification for healthcare provider or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West).
• Collaborate with Patient Care Nursing Assistants, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT.
• Utilize skills in EKG interpretation, line care, and bedside procedures.
• Support bedside procedures such as endoscopies and bronchoscopies with critical thinking and delegation.
