Job summary

Rogers Behavioral Health in Iowa City, IA seeks a PRN Behavioral Health Therapist to deliver cognitive behavioral therapy and group sessions. You will work under the Clinical leader, adjust care plans, and document treatment plans and outcomes in patient records.

Participation in multidisciplinary teams and staff training is required. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in a human services-related field, plus a Counselor-in-Training credential; CBT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in human services, psychology, social work, or related field.
• Must hold valid Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training credential or state equivalent for Addiction Recovery programs.
• 12 months CBT experience preferred; relevant clinical care experience acceptable.
• For Residential programs, must have a current license and be in good standing (driver's license).

Responsibilities

• Provide CBT and other therapeutic services including groups under supervision to address patients' needs and goals.
• Participate in supervision sessions and communicate patient progress and care plan adjustments.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust as needed in consultation with Clinical leader.
• Document mental health services in medical records as required by regulations and payer expectations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist in treatment plan development.
• Communicate interventions and support needs to interdisciplinary team and support systems.
• Provide training support to direct care staff on CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans.
• Provide patient/guardian training on CBT strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
• Ensure patient safety and facility safety; support staffing/scheduling changes as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and pursue ongoing learning.
