Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. seeks a full-time CBRN technical equipment support specialist to assist the DHS Mobile Detection Deployment Unit (MDDU) in Mobile, AL.

You will help maintain readiness of CBRN detection gear, conduct nationwide operations, training, and exercises with federal, state, and local partners. The role requires travel across the contiguous United States, field-level repairs, and safe handling of radioactive sources.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in radiation detection and supporting detection operations at events or steady state operations.
• Knowledge of CBRN detection equipment and procedures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET clearance and DHS suitability.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with handling and safety of radioactive sources.

Responsibilities

• Track and safeguard MDDU equipment and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories and update tracking information.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained for 24/7 readiness.
• Perform field maintenance and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
• Conduct CBRN detection operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Provide training and after-action reporting as required.
• Coordinate deployments and track progress of assigned MDDUs.
• Prepare timely travel and procurement expense reports.
