Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. seeks a full-time CBRN technical equipment support specialist to back the DHS MDDU in Fort Dix, NJ.

You will help detect chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats nationwide and maintain readiness of CBRN equipment through training, exercises, and deployments. The role requires 50–75% travel across the continental U.S., field maintenance, and the ability to operate a truck and 5th wheel trailer.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, biological, radiological and/or nuclear detection.
• 5 years' radiation detection training and support at events or operations where detection is used.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level national security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain custody of MDDU equipment and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update tracking information.
• Ensure MDDU equipment is repaired, calibrated, and ready for deployment 24/7.
• Safely handle, use, transport, and ship radioactive sources following federal regulations.
• Perform CBRN detection operations with Federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Provide training and conduct CBRN exercises with agencies and stakeholders.
• Report on planning, management tasks, and deployments of MDDUs.
• Operate a truck and 5th wheel trailer; comply with travel and regulatory requirements.
