Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time CBRN technical equipment support specialist to assist the DHS Mobile Detection Deployment Unit (MDDU) at Fort Dix, NJ. You will oversee care of detection equipment, perform inventories, and ensure readiness for 24/7 operations nationwide.

You will work with federal, state, and local agencies, conduct trainings, and participate in national security events. Occasional travel and compliance with security regulations are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in radiation detection training and support of detection operations.
• Knowledgeable about DHS SEAR/NSSE event support and national security exercises.
• Experience with primer detection equipment including PRD detectors, RIIDs, and mobile systems.
• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance and DHS suitability.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a 5th wheel trailer.

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain care, custody, and control of MDDU equipment and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update tracking information.
• Ensure equipment is repaired, calibrated, and in a ready state for deployment 24/7.
• Safely handle, transport, and ship radioactive sources following federal regulations.
• Perform CBRN detection operations with federal, state, and local agencies and events.
• Train and share knowledge with MDDU team members; report progress to site lead and MELE supervisor.
• Travel 50–75% of the month within the contiguous US and territories for program needs.
