Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time CBRN technical equipment support professional to assist the DHS MDDU in Portland, OR.

The role ensures readiness of CBRN detection equipment, handles radioactive sources, and supports national deployment, training, and exercises with federal, state, and local partners. The position requires travel 50–75% of the month, ability to lift 50 pounds, and a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, biological, radiological and/or nuclear CBRN detection with emphasis on R/N detection.
• 5 years’ experience in radiation detection training and supporting detection operations at special events or during steady state operations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a truck with a 5th wheel trailer.

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain care, custody, and control of MDDU equipment and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update tracking information.
• Ensure equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained for deployment 24/7/365.
• Perform CBRN detection operations with federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Train and share knowledge with MDDU team members and prepare reports.
