Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. in Herndon, VA seeks a full-time CBRN technical equipment support to assist DHS MDDU with detection of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats nationwide. Position requires travel 50–75% of the month and potential 10-day deployments.

The role includes maintenance, calibration, and operation of CBRN equipment, training and exercises for federal, state, and local agencies, and reporting tasks per program guidance. This is a contract award dependent role.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, biological, radiological and/or nuclear CBRN detection.
• 5 years' experience in radiation detection training and supporting detection operations at events or steady-state operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level national security clearance and DHS Suitability.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain care, custody, and control of MDDU equipment and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update tracking information.
• Ensure equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained for deployment 24/7.
• Perform CBRN detection operations with federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Prepare timely after-action reports and provide status updates to leadership.
