Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX, is hiring for a Clinical Radiologic Specialist in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role performs diagnostic and interventional imaging, supports the team during complex procedures, administers contrast, and ensures patient safety with careful monitoring.

Required ARRT/CCI credentials and BLS; Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Life Support preferred. High school diploma or equivalent with experience is required; associate/technical degree or 4 years experience acceptable.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• One of the following credentials: CVIS (CCI) or Cardiographic Tech with EP (CCI) before hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab by performing life-saving cardiac imaging procedures.
• Lead critical care coordination during complex procedures to support the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer contrast media and medications with patient vitals monitored for safety.
• Support Radiologist and clinical team by maintaining precise parameters and documentation.
• Apply radiation safety protocols and quality standards in high-pressure settings.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-impact patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab by performing life-saving diagnostic and interventional cardiac imaging procedures.
• Lead critical care coordination during complex cardiac procedures to provide essential diagnostic aid and support the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer contrast media and medications accurately while monitoring patient vitals to ensure safety and clinical quality during fast-paced emergency interventions.
• Support the Radiologist and clinical team by maintaining precise technical parameters and clinical documentation within a rapid-response cardiovascular setting.
• Implement strict radiation safety protocols and quality improvement standards to ensure operational excellence and superior patient outcomes in high-pressure situations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• ARRT(R) or CCI required
