Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to support the care delivery team under RN supervision. The role includes direct patient care, documentation, and assisting with ADLs in a hospital setting.

You will work a 12-hour night shift and participate in interdisciplinary care coordination, with emphasis on safety and patient satisfaction. First semester in nursing or an approved MA/PCT program is required.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Required or Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Required or A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Patient Care Technician certification may be substituted for the educational requirement.
• First Responder - RQI required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to achieve expected outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention through standard precautions and proper dressing changes.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and records weight, height, vital signs, reporting changes to the nurse.
• Coordinates patient services including labs, imaging, and consults.
• Performs age-specific EKGs in OP Clinic and Cath Lab & IR.
• Assists with turnover between procedures and maintains sterile technique.
• Participates in department and system meetings and mandatory trainings.
