Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a part-time patient care assistant to support a Registered Nurse in delivering delegated patient care. The role includes assisting with ADLs, vitals, wound care, and documentation while maintaining a safe, patient-centered environment.

The position emphasizes collaboration with a care team, strict adherence to safety standards, and ongoing professional development in clinical skills and ethics.

Qualifications

• Completed first semester in an accredited nursing program or completed a medical assistant/patient care technician program.
• Substitution allowed for CMA/MA/RMA/CNA/EMT certifications in place of specific education.
• Experience in a clinical office/clinic setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety and infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote health and wellness.
• Communicate pertinent patient data to the care team in a timely manner.
• Promote infection prevention and proper hand hygiene; maintain patient rooms.
• Assist with activities of daily living; measure and record vitals and body metrics.
• Document care delivered and report changes to the assigned RN.
• Mentor newly hired PCTs to ensure enculturation and competency.
