Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to support RN-directed care in a 12-hour night shift setting. The role focuses on safe, patient-centered interventions and documenting care activities within a busy clinic/ward environment.

The assistant will monitor patient changes, communicate relevant data to staff, and participate in the continuum of care while maintaining compliance with safety standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Completed first semester in an accredited nursing program or completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• An active clinical certification may substitute education requirements as listed.
• Experience in an office or clinic setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborates with team to achieve expected patient outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to staff in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention via standard precautions and proper hand hygiene.
• Assists with activities of daily living and records vital signs and weights.
• Coordinates tests and procedures, including lab work and imaging as needed.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in department requirements.
• Maintains sterile technique during dressing changes and prepares supplies.
