Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS seeks a patient care support role to be part of the care delivery team. You will assist under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide delegated, direct patient care and ensure a safe environment for assigned patients while documenting completed work and observed changes.

The position emphasizes teamwork, infection prevention, and adherence to sterile and non-sterile procedures, with opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary care and department

Qualifications

• Successful completion of first semester in an accredited nursing program or completion of a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certification substitutions allowed include PCTC/AMCA/MA/RNA/EMT as applicable in Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering delegated direct patient care under RN direction.
• Maintain safe patient environment and document care performed.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the RN.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to support planned care.
• Perform or assist with ADLs, vital signs, weight, and measurements.
• Assist with laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic procedures as needed.
