Job summary

Populus in Denver is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to own the catering business from first conversation through post-event follow-up. You will develop relationships across corporate and social markets, collaborate with culinary and operations teams, and guide events from sale to execution.

The role requires at least 3 years in catering or hospitality sales, knowledge of F&B service standards, and the ability to negotiate with warmth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years catering/event sales experience.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to negotiate terms with warmth.
• Evenings and weekends availability.
• Ability to conduct site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Solicit new catering business and strengthen relationships with existing accounts across corporate and social markets.
• Meet clients, conduct property tours, and present the facilities, culinary program, and services at Populus.
• Develop menus with the Executive Chef and culinary team, matched to each client's occasion, guest count, and budget.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and event documentation, and maintain complete and current account records.
• Communicate event detail across Culinary, Banquets, Engineering, and Rooms so that every department is prepared well before the day.
• Attend event set up and remain present through execution, resolving what arises in the moment.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly catering and sales reporting.
• Support the onboarding and development of catering associates as the team grows.
