Job summary

Eataly in New Jersey seeks a Catering Lead to plan, organize, and execute the catering business for the location. Reports to the Retail Manager and oversees proposals, contracts, and event orders for weddings, offices, and VIP events.

Responsibilities include negotiating partnerships, coordinating deliveries, and training staff on catering operations to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. Flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and selling catering events.
• Ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates proposals, contracts, event orders and packages tailored to each guest’s requests
• Negotiates partnerships to sell catering packages for breakfast, lunch, dinner and large events
• Oversees catering events from start to finish: books, plans and executes functions
• Executes all off-site catering for offices and VIP clients, coordinating delivery services and pickup
• Acts as a trainer for team members on catering operations
• Communicates product and staffing needs for catering events on a daily basis
• Manages catering call-backs from orders delivered same day to ensure 100% guest satisfaction
• Handles and resolves complaints/accolades and communicates results to managers
• Ensures catering collateral is displayed and stocked in the store at all times
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Job Description

The Catering Lead plans, organizes and executes the catering business for an Eataly location. Reports to the Retail Manager.

• Negotiates executive partnerships to sell catering packages for breakfast, lunch, dinner and largescale events
• Oversees catering events from start to finish: books, plans and executes functions
• Executes all off-site catering for offices and VIP clients, coordinating delivery services and pickup business
• Acts as a trainer for team members on catering operations
• Communicates product and staffing needs for catering events on a daily basis
• Manages catering call-backs from orders delivered same day to ensure 100% guest satisfaction
• Handles and resolves complaints/accolades and communicates results to managers
• Ensures catering collateral is displayed and stocked in the store at all times: catering menus, catering table, business cards, etc.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in catering/sales management
• Ability to multitask in a fluid environment
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible scheduling often including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
