Job summary

University of Dayton is hiring a Catering Event Supervisor to lead and support catering staff, coordinate event details, and ensure exceptional guest experiences that reflect UD’s service excellence. You will oversee staff across locations and manage setup, delivery, service, and inventory while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in food prep or food service.
• Experience supervising and training personnel in food service techniques.
• Ability to work independently and supervise others without direct supervision.
• Self-starter with creativity and strong communication.
• Ability to work well with people at all levels in a professional manner.
• Ability to manage multiple details in a fast-paced environment.
• Must write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
• Must be able to stand for four hours and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive catering vehicles.
• Ability to work nights/weekends and flexible schedule.
• Managerial ServSafe certification (or within 1 year of hire).

Responsibilities

• Oversee catering staff at various locations.
• Ensure event execution aligns with guest specifications.
• Direct set-up, delivery, service and inventory control.
• Supervise retail operations for bar and other venues within Catering.
• Maintain safety and sanitation procedures according to standards.
