Job summary

Thompson Hospitality is seeking a Catering Supervisor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to lead planning, coordination, and execution of catering services within our dining facility. You will drive hospitality excellence and memorable experiences for the college community.

Responsibilities include setting up venues, coordinating staff, serving with quality standards, engaging guests, and ensuring a smooth post-event wrap-up.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or event planning experience.
• Leadership experience with effective team management.
• Strong customer service skills to meet client expectations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up event venues per client specifications, arranging furniture, decor, and equipment.
• Serve food and drinks following portion, presentation, and quality guidelines.
• Engage with guests, provide menu information, answer inquiries, and accommodate special requests.
• Maintain event cleanliness by clearing tables, cleaning utensils, and resetting for subsequent phases.
• Assist in post-event cleanup and return the venue to its original state as directed.
• Work 50–55 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
