Job summary

Elior North America, in partnership with Constellation, is seeking a Catering Coordinator at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. You will support planning, logistics, and execution of catering events, coordinating with clients, culinary teams, and vendors to ensure seamless service.

This on-site, part-time role requires 1–2 years in catering or events, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in catering or events.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and coordination of catering events from start to finish, including logistics, setup, and teardown.
• Work as a captain during events and help with our After Dark program.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules for catering orders, event rentals, and any additional materials required.
• Work with the culinary and operations teams to ensure all orders are prepared accurately and delivered on time.
• Maintain a master calendar of events and deadlines, attending pre-event meetings and communicating event details to all relevant parties.
• Liaise with external vendors to arrange equipment, rentals, and other necessary services to support successful event execution.
• Provide on-site assistance during events, ensuring seamless execution and promptly addressing any last-minute issues.
• Manage catering supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure sufficient inventory levels for upcoming events.
• Ensure all food and services meet company standards for quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction

What we're looking for:

• 1-2 years of experience in catering, food and beverage, events or related field.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
