Constellation is seeking a Catering Coordinator in San Francisco for part-time work at Exploratorium. You will plan, coordinate, and execute catering events, working with clients, culinary teams, and vendors to ensure exceptional service.

This role emphasizes organization, a customer-oriented approach, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. You will captain events, coordinate schedules, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining inventory and supporting pre-event meetings.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in catering, food & beverage, events or related field.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and coordination of catering events from start to finish, including logistics, setup and teardown.
• Work as a captain during events and assist with the After Dark program.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules for catering orders, event rentals, and additional materials.
• Coordinate with culinary and operations teams to ensure accurate orders and on-time delivery.
• Maintain a master calendar of events and deadlines, and participate in pre-event meetings.
• Liaise with external vendors to arrange equipment, rentals, and services for successful events.
• Provide on-site assistance during events and address last-minute issues promptly.
• Manage catering supplies, equipment, and inventory for upcoming events.
• Ensure all food and services meet company standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

The Role at a glance:
