Job summary

Nationwide's NATCAT Field Claims Specialist II role supports Personal Lines nationwide, responding to catastrophes with on-site inspections, damage assessments, and coverage determinations. You'll travel up to 80% and guide customers through the claims process with empathy, clear communication, and timely resolutions while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of property claims experience, Xactimate proficiency, and the ability to inspect rooftops safely

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in insurance field/property claims handling.
• Proficient with Xactimate and estimate writing.

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little to no direction.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices.
• Opens, closes, and adjusts reserves according to company practices.
• Maintains current knowledge of insurance guidelines and product changes.
• Handles rooftop inspections and cost estimates for property losses.
