Job summary

Kemper is seeking a Represented Casualty Claims Adjuster to investigate and negotiate bodily injury and uninsured motorist claims across approved offices including Birmingham, AL. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities include investigating claims, developing settlement strategies, reviewing policies for coverage, and documenting injury histories.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of casual claims experience in auto insurance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Must obtain and maintain state licensing where applicable.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate casualty, bodily injury and property damage claims of varying complexity.
• Develop strategies to resolve coverage, liability, injury, and property damage issues.
• Review policy provisions and endorsements to verify coverage and make financial decisions within authority.
• Communicate settlement information to insureds, claimants, attorneys, and other parties.
• Document injury histories, obtain medical reports, and develop settlement strategies.
• Maintain detailed records and reserves for bodily injury claims.
• Attend depositions/mediations/arbitrations as needed.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with departments to move claims to final resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
