Job summary

Independence Health’s NORWIN Surgery Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support surgical procedures in the OR as a scrub member under supervision. The role emphasizes patient safety, aseptic technique, and teamwork with the nursing and surgical staff.

The position requires completion of a surgical technology program and at least basic certification. Part-time hours will involve standby and on-call shifts as needed to meet operating room scheduling demands.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct and indirect patient care per policies and standards.
• Collaborates with the RN to develop and implement an age-specific plan of care.

• Maintains documentation on OR Count Sheet and Surgical Site ID/Verification Checklist.
• Acts as scrub member: assists surgeon, obtains instruments, and prepares sterile setup.
• Supports infection control and safety protocols in the OR.
