Job summary

Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard guests, team members, and assets on property in Black Hawk, Colorado. The role emphasizes vigilance, professionalism, and exceptional guest service within a fast-paced casino resort environment.

You will conduct ID checks, patrol duties, incident response, and coordination with internal and external agencies while maintaining calm under pressure and ensuring compliance with gaming regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License.
• Ability to provide exceptional guest service in a professional and courteous manner.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and outside agencies.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification after hire.
• Familiarity with State Gaming ICMPs, rules, and regulations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to observe, assess, and report activity accurately.
• Ability to process currency transactions accurately when required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
• Understanding and knowledge of Title 31 reporting preferred; training provided.
• Must be dependable, alert, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including days, swing, graveyard, weekends, holidays, and business-demand schedules.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to respond quickly to incidents or emergencies throughout the property.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, by radio, and/or by phone.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular ID checks to verify guests are at least 21.
• Provide high level guest service with a professional presence.
• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of guests and assets.
• Maintain surveillance and report suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies and security requests promptly.
• Administer emergency first aid as needed.
• Conduct post-accident and suspicion-based drug screens as per policy.
• Take appropriate action when illegal or disruptive activity is suspected.
• Assist with monetary transactions between departments when requested.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and daily security reports.
• Support compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls.
• Liaise with outside agencies to exchange information.
• Collaborate with Surveillance, Guest Services and other departments to support operations.
• Promote a safe, respectful, service-focused environment.
