Job summary

Rural King is hiring a Cashier to provide friendly, accurate service at the front end of our store in Indiana. You’ll handle transactions, assist customers, and promote Rural King programs while maintaining a clean checkout area.

The role emphasizes cash handling accuracy, comfort with POS systems, and teamwork. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, with opportunities for training and growth within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and other technology.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Process cash, credit, debit, and other transactions accurately.
• Follow cash handling, returns, exchanges, layaways, and price disputes procedures.
• Educate customers about the Rural King Loyalty Program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Reconcile registers and maintain accurate records.
• Keep checkout areas clean and stocked; assist with cross-training.
