Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policy.
• Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with current, seasonal, and promotional ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions or incidents, and notifying management.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
• Provide a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues.
