Job summary

Shenandoah Hospitality is seeking a friendly Cashier for seasonal work in Stanley, VA. Earn $16.00 per hour while assisting guests, handling POS transactions, stocking products, and supporting daily restaurant operations at multiple waysides in Shenandoah National Park.

Responsibilities include cashiering, cash handling, cleaning, stocking, and basic food prep as needed. Must have excellent customer service, be able to work varied shifts, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and people skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts.
• Be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
• Shift involves standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cashiering; maintain POS operations including opening and closing procedures.
• Efficient and honest handling of all cash and credit cards adhering to procedures.
• Daily cleaning of restaurant, storerooms, and equipment, kitchen and public areas.
• Stock Grab n Go coolers and maintain beverage/ice cream station.
• Sandwich preparation when needed.
• Understand ISO environmental and quality policies and initiatives and meet responsibilities.
• Participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting teamwork.
• Adhere to duties checklist and other duties as assigned.

• Big Meadows Wayside – estimated start date 3/19/2027 and anticipated end date of 11/30/2027
• Elkwallow Wayside – estimated start date 5/3/2027 and anticipated end date of 11/15/2027

• Cashiering; maintain (Point-of-Sales) POS operations including opening and closing procedures
• Efficient and honest handling of all cash and credit cards adhering to Company procedures
• Daily cleaning of restaurant, store rooms, and equipment, kitchen and public areas
• Stock Grab n Go coolers and maintain beverage/ice cream station (if applicable)
• Sandwich Preparation when needed
• Understand Company’s ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas
• Actively participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting team work
• Adherence to Duties Checklist and other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Must be able to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
• Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people and will involve frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
• State Specific Food Handlers Certificate (if applicable)

Education and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Six months food and beverage experience preferred
