Job Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines regarding restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and stay updated on current ads and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product questions.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform all essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
