Job Title: Cashier Associate

Location: Retail Grocery Location

Position Overview

The cashier associate is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service. This individual maintains financial responsibility in his/her service lane.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Provide attentive, courteous, and friendly customer service.
• Address customer concerns positively and escalate appropriately.
• Manage lane according to service standards.
• Inform customers of specials and promotions.
• Record sales accurately; operate cashiering equipment efficiently.
• Stock and restock front-end products to minimize waste.
• Handle discarded or returned merchandise properly.
• Return shopping carts to the cart corral.
• Assist in training new cashiers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Report thefts, shoplifting, or policy violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Meet legal and company age requirements.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. or ability to obtain it.
• Successful pre-employment drug test and background check.
