Position Purpose: Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service. They process checkout and/or return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage.
A Head Cashier supports Cashiers by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions, and managing markdowns across registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They serve as the first level of escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates, including new Cashiers.
The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is at least 1+ years of Cashier experience.
