Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst to maintain cash integrity, post payments, and oversee refunds. You will monitor EFTs, investigate variances, and collaborate with IT to improve EHR workflows.

The role supports multiple departments and contributes to policy development and performance improvement. The position requires an Associate's degree and 1–3 years in healthcare cash processing, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business/Healthcare related field preferred or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
• One to three years minimum recent experience in healthcare cash processing, finance, patient accounting and/or physician billing, preferably in an Academic Medical Center setting.
• Ability to work independently and with a team. Able to excel in a complex, demanding environment with time‑sensitive deadlines.
• Proven abilities in problem management, process analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to stakeholders both verbally and through writing.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Windows based software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent presentation skills and interaction with hospital management and physician leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to all revenue generating departments on cash related issues in collaboration with departmental stakeholders, Revenue Cycle teams and Finance.
• Perform month end tasks including reconciliation, resolving issues, monitoring and clearing workqueues, and payment posting.
• Partner with the Sr. Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst and management by raising issues, understanding root causes, and offering solutions.
• Serve as a cash processing subject matter expert to internal and external team members.
• Lead small initiatives with project timelines and deliverables under supervision.
• Compile and distribute reconciliation reporting for assigned areas as needed.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to resolve posting issues and conduct audits as required.
• Assist with audit data requests and respond to auditor questions as needed.
