Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC in Anchorage, AK seeks a case manager to support residents, manage a caseload, and apply evidence-based practices in program planning. The role involves training junior staff, preparing individualized progress plans, and coordinating with employment services to foster financial independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social, human services, criminal justice or behavioral science from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience in human services, corrections or community-based services; substitutions allowed as described.
• Familiar with community corrections systems and current practices.
• Familiar with community workforce needs, public and private agencies and employment services.
• Ability to write clear concise reports in English using correct grammar.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages.
• Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not mandatory.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

• May perform the duties of a Monitor including resident intakes, check-ins, breath analysis and drug screens, to provide backup when necessary.
• In own handwriting, prepares written personalized program for each resident to establish measurable criteria of expected behavior and a time frame for achieving specified goals.
• Reviews plan with residents on a weekly basis and document progress and/or revisions, so resident is gaining the life skills necessary to make a successful re-entry into the community.
• Monitors facility sanitation and safety. Assigns daily housekeeping chores to residents to comply with facility standards.
• May orient residents upon arrival at facility to provide smooth assimilation into program (e.g. have resident complete paperwork).
• Makes entries in own handwriting into confidential client files to provide the structure for case analysis and program planning and to provide documentation of program participation.
• Assists Employment Placement Specialist to verify residents' jobs to ensure residents' employment is suitable under established program plan.
• Verifies residents' pass plan through pass sponsorship according to contract, so that the resident is accountable for his/her whereabouts in the community.
• Prepares terminal report within established time parameters upon resident release to summarize program performance and to satisfy contract requirements.
• Participates in staff meetings with observations and recommendations to identify and solve problems and function as a unified team.
• Maintains confidential information obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, outside agencies, etc.
• Complies with GEO policies and work rules and attendances policies; overtime as required.
• Complies with facility safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure safe work.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of staff to promote team spirit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
