Job summary

The Salvation Army – Mesquite Service Center is seeking a non-exempt, full-time Case Manager to assess needs, develop case plans, and connect clients with essential services. This role requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork to support low-income and at-risk individuals within grant guidelines.

Responsibilities include case management, documentation, budgeting workshops, and assisting in food pantry operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• One (1) year case work or related experience.
• Knowledge of criteria for food, rent, and utility assistance and enrollment processes.
• Ability to use HMIS and Family Services software program.
• Ability to access at risk participants and situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and file management skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time.
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
• Ability to work flexible days and hours, including weekends.
• Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, assess immediate and long-term needs, and develop case plans.
• Provide case management and needed services to low-income and/or at-risk individuals/families in compliance with program policies and procedures.
• Prepare and submit required reports to Family Services Ministries Coordinator in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate program records of EFSP, SHARE AND REACH programs, as well as volunteers and vendors.
• Keep statistics as related to demographics, types of assistance given.
• Write accurate and concise case notes for each client.
• Lead and teach classes relating to budgeting, banking and other basic life skills.
• Aid with seasonal events and drives as needed.
• Work in food pantry; assisting clients and stocking shelves, bagging food and other related duties.
• Maintain neat and organized work area.
• Network with other agencies and organizations.
• Other duties as assigned.
