U.S. Xpress in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Rep 1, Carrier Sales to facilitate load movement by contracting and managing an outsourced network of transportation providers. You will track freight and ensure customer requirements are met with the best service possible.

The role focuses on negotiating rates, growing a carrier network, and leveraging digital systems to improve efficiency. Degree and Excel/PBI skills are valued in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. (Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.)
• Experience in Sales, Transportation, Finance, or Hospitality experience preferred
• Experience thriving in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate rates and secure load coverage with carriers to maximize profitability.
• Grow and manage a network of carriers through lead generation and outreach.
• Build strong relationships with carriers, providers, drivers, and stakeholders.
• Promote use of U.S. Xpress digital and automated systems with carriers.
• Balance trailer networks by leveraging carrier relationships and data accuracy.
• Monitor carrier performance to maintain high service levels.
• Grow book of business by leveraging the carrier network to meet customer demand.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues for carriers and customers.
• Maintain carrier documentation in our systems.
• Share market information on capacity and lane rates to guide procurement.
• Source new business opportunities and provide market feedback to procurement.
