Job summary

RXO Inc. is hiring a Carrier Sales Representative to source, negotiate, and secure carriers for freight.

You will manage communications with carriers and customers to ensure timely, cost-efficient routes, and you will coordinate pickup and delivery, monitoring for changes and issues that arise. The role includes maintaining records in RXO’s systems, researching leads, and performing cold calls to grow the carrier network while ensuring accurate billing.

Qualifications

• 1 year of procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work/military experience.
• 1 year of transportation experience.
• 2 years of sales or customer service experience.
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion while functioning independently within authorized limits.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong carrier relationships by negotiating and securing carriers to move freight.
• Maintain communication with carriers and customers to ensure high-quality freight movement.
• Inform all parties of route changes, delays, or freight concerns as needed.
• Schedule pickup and delivery times; consider weather, traffic, miles, and service rules.
• Follow procedures to ensure shipment integrity and RXO brand.
• Accurately maintain and update information in RXO systems.
• Research databases for potential leads; make cold calls to prospects.
• Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure carrier charges are accurate.
