Job summary

NXTPoint Logistics is seeking a Carrier Representative to build and maintain relationships with transportation providers for timely, cost-effective freight solutions. You will negotiate rates, secure capacity, and coordinate shipments to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced logistics environment.

This role emphasizes proactive problem solving, excellent communication, and attention to detail to optimize operations and service levels across our growing network of carriers and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-3 years in transportation brokerage and 1-2 years in sales/accounts is preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship building and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
• Proficient in gathering and interpreting data to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with carriers to ensure capacity and service quality.
• Act as primary contact for carrier inquiries, issues, and feedback.
• Develop strategies to expand carrier network and loyalty.
• Negotiate rates with carriers while maintaining profitability and standards.
• Secure carrier capacity for transactional and spot loads.
• Monitor market trends and adjust buy strategies accordingly.
• Assign loads to carriers with detailed route and delivery instructions.
• Ensure documentation and compliance requirements are met.
• Perform real-time track and trace and address delays proactively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Utilize TMS and other tools to manage workloads and records.
