Job summary

Rivian seeks an experienced Carrier Operations Analyst, Outbound Logistics, to optimize finished vehicle transportation across truck, rail, and ocean modes from Normal, IL. You will coordinate with carriers, maintain data integrity in the TMS, and drive capacity planning and KPI reviews to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, standardization of workflows, and safety, with a schedule that extends to occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field (or equivalent practical logistics experience).
• Experience with finished vehicle logistics and rail transport preferred.
• Experience operating Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or yard management platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charting, shortcuts) with a data-driven approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace tools and Slack.
• Root-cause analysis mindset with structured, continuous-improvement approach.
• Ability to collaborate across functional teams and adapt roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee truck, rail, and ocean carriers to ensure high service standards and prompt delivery of finished vehicles, tendering freight to contracted and spot market partners.
• Maintain data integrity by entering shipment details into the TMS, reconciling with BOLs, and auditing daily system reports.
• Lead capacity planning initiatives with carriers, rail facilities, and service centres.
• Review KPI metrics with carriers on a monthly basis and implement corrective actions when targets are missed.
• Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and root causes, applying cross-functional solutions.
• Design, document, and deploy standardized logistics workflows.
• Establish and enforce safety guidelines for personnel and vehicles.
• Collaborate with IT and Procurement to streamline new carrier onboarding.
• Manage carrier damage claims with internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday 10:00–19:00, with occasional Saturdays.
