Job summary

The University of Central Missouri is seeking a Carpenter I to support carpentry tasks including rough-in work, sheetrock installation, suspended ceilings, and door/window repairs. Typical duties cover tile work, guttering, and basic finishes, with opportunities to contribute to small projects.

Qualification requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months in carpentry; trade school may substitute for some experience.

  • Repair overhead doors and stairs as needed.
  • Assemble and finish small projects as assigned.

Replace door closures. Install and replace guttering. Repair overhead doors. Install fuse links and springs. Replace stair treads and risers. Assemble and finish small projects, as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of related trade school may substitute for experience requirement.

Experience:

  • Minimum six months experience in the carpentry trade.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Supplemental Information

Physical/Environmental Factors:

  • Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals
  • Lifting (weight) - 85 lbs
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces.

Working Hours and Days: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
