Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have three years of experience in carpentry work, construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings and offices, including installation and repair of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
- Demonstrate excellent integrity, good moral character, and initiative.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9.
- Provide evidence of criminal record clearance by the Department of Education and a sworn statement regarding criminal history during the initial six months.
- Evidence of adequate health to perform job functions, with reasonable accommodations as per applicable laws.
- Pass the required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test.
- Meet any other acceptable alternatives as determined by the Superintendent.
Job Responsibilities
- Repair broken and malfunctioning furniture, doors, screens, locks, glass panes, and other equipment.
- Construct and repair buildings and structures using appropriate wood joints.
- Replace damaged ceiling panels, wall coverings, or floor segments.
- Build furniture such as bookcases, cabinets, tables, and partitions.
- Perform various carpentry cuts, erect scaffolding, and operate woodworking machinery.
- Make emergency repairs and repairs to special truck bodies.
- Estimate time and materials, and prepare reports on work completed.
- Maintain records and serve as a role model demonstrating positive attitudes and professionalism.
- Use computers and electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
- Protect confidentiality of staff records and information.
- Participate in training, workshops, and meetings as required.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the School Business Administrator.
