Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Martinsburg, WV seeks a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide daily living support and compassionate care in a senior living community.

You will assist residents with ADLs, coordinate activities, respond to calls, and protect confidentiality while following all policies. A teamwork mindset, strong communication, and CPR/First Aid readiness are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Approved personal care aide program completed per state regulations.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must lift and transfer residents safely with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform during working hours, including name badge.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community positively and professionally.
• Must attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and housekeeping as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergency alerts.
• Plan and conduct activity programs for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Assist new residents with move-in transitions and provide emotional support.
• Assist residents to dining room and activities; check attendance.
• Contact appropriate staff about resident status, appointments, admissions, transfers.
• Represent the community positively and professionally.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Follow all policies and procedures.
