Job summary

HOMEWOOD in Portland is seeking a Dietary Aide to support daily kitchen operations under the Cook and Dietary supervisor. You will learn the food service routine quickly, assist with serving meals, operate the dishwasher, and help keep trays, surfaces, and refrigerators clean and sanitary.

This role requires ability to read procedures and recipes, work cooperatively with all departments, and obtain a state food handler certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to work with managers and employees.
• Must learn food service routine quickly.
• Must assist with serving meals and operating dishwasher.

Responsibilities

• Learn the food service routine quickly and follow instructions.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record dishwasher parameters at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher cycles and operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks; keep kitchen clean and sanitary.
• Sweep and mop kitchen; carry out trash disposal.
• Stock groceries and keep surfaces and refrigerators clean.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
