Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a responsive and detail-oriented dietary support assistant to help with food preparation, tray delivery, and maintaining sanitation across dining and kitchen areas. You will follow diet orders, assist cooks, and ensure safe food handling and service in a compassionate healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes adherence to infection control policies, proper temperature checks, and timely meal service to residents, with on-the-job training provided for required procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• Experience in food service preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Follows diet orders and NPO diet orders.
• Assists cook in preparing meals, desserts and snacks for patients/residents.
• Delivers trays to patients/residents on halls and to dining area.
• Prepares between-meal nourishments and serves accordingly.
• Records substitutions and follows procedures for partner meals.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation per infection control policies.
• Operates kitchen equipment (coffee/tea maker, dish machine, mixer, steamer, etc.).
• Follows standardized recipes and checks temperatures as required.
