Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for individuals to help them remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing (bed, tub, or shower), hair care (shampoo, combing, brushing), dental and mouth care (including dentures), nail care (filing only), skin care (peri care and lotion application), and transferring patients from bed to chair or wheelchair. Assist with bedpan, commode, and toilet transfers.
• Report observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
• Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt when traveling for work.
• Help with household tasks essential to clients' personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

• Six months experience in home care preferred.
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation.

License Requirements

• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification.

State Specific Requirements

• KY, OH, MO, NC: No additional requirements.

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours to meet clients' needs.
• Ability to work effectively in any home situation, regardless of client demographics.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
